1. Introduction

AdreneRide ("we," "us," or "our") operates the AdreneRide mobile application and the website at www.adreneride.com (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service.

By using AdreneRide, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we may collect:

  • Name, email address, and password (stored as a secure hash)
  • Profile details: photo, bio, country, native language, gender, social links
  • Authentication tokens when you sign in with Google

2.2 Location & Telemetry Data

With your permission, we collect:

  • GPS coordinates, speed, heading, and altitude
  • Location history for map sharing and blackbox ride recordings
  • Blackbox telemetry: lean angle, G-force, accelerometer, and gyroscope readings
  • Crash and fall detection sensor events

2.3 User-Generated Content

  • Chat messages, photos, voice notes, and shared media
  • Stories, comments, and replies
  • Meeting (event) details and GPS locations
  • Motorcycle garage entries and photos
  • SOS alerts and associated location data

2.4 Device & Technical Data

  • Device type, operating system version, and app version
  • Push notification tokens (Firebase Cloud Messaging)
  • Usage analytics via Firebase Analytics (aggregated, non-identifying where possible)
  • IP address and request logs for API security and rate limiting

2.5 Payment Information

AdreneRide Pro subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple App Store or Google Play. We do not collect or store your credit card or payment details. We may receive subscription status and transaction identifiers from the respective store.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

  • Provide core app features: maps, navigation, blackbox, chat, stories, and meetings
  • Display your location to other riders when location sharing is enabled
  • Detect and respond to crashes, falls, and SOS events
  • Deliver push notifications for messages, safety alerts, and app updates
  • Encrypt and deliver end-to-end encrypted chat messages
  • Manage subscriptions and Pro feature access
  • Improve app performance, fix bugs, and prevent abuse
  • Comply with legal obligations

4. Location Data

Location access is essential to AdreneRide. You control when location is shared:

  • Foreground: Used for maps and navigation while the app is open.
  • Background: Used only when Location Sharing or Blackbox recording is active, with a persistent notification on your device.

You can disable location sharing in app settings at any time. Other riders see your position on the map only when sharing is enabled. Location history may be stored on our servers for map features and ride playback.

5. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share information:

  • With other users: Profile information, map location (when sharing is on), stories, and meeting details you choose to publish.
  • With service providers: Firebase (Google) for push notifications and analytics; cloud hosting for our API and media storage.
  • For legal reasons: When required by law, court order, or to protect rights, safety, and security.
  • Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice where required by law.

End-to-end encrypted chat content is encrypted on your device. We cannot read the plaintext of encrypted messages.

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard measures including:

  • HTTPS/TLS for all API communication
  • SHA-256 hashed passwords and secure bearer token authentication
  • End-to-end encryption for chat messages (libsodium)
  • Rate limiting and brute-force protection on authentication endpoints
  • Token expiry and secure logout mechanisms

No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You may request account deletion through the app or by contacting us. Upon deletion, we will remove or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., fraud prevention).

Location history may be retained for up to 24 hours for map API features.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access, correct, or delete your personal data
  • Object to or restrict certain processing
  • Data portability
  • Withdraw consent for location or notifications
  • Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

9. Children's Privacy

AdreneRide is not intended for users under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. International Transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer of your information to facilities that may be located outside your jurisdiction, subject to appropriate safeguards where required.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
